doubleyourdatingprogram com - Updating webreference

If you change some of the wervices and you want to update the web references on the consumer you'll see that visual studio resets all the changes you made and again you'll have a and so on... Can't believe no people complains about this problem on forums and other places like this on the internet!

The only solution I have found is to delete the web reference from my project, and then create a new one again - but isn't this kind of what "update we refence" should do?

Thanks, Peter Hi I have a webservice project in Visual Studio, and another project which uses the webservice.

It has something to do with a "development server", which runs from within Visual Studio.

I think I need to find out how this server is restarted, as it appears this server hosts my webservice withing Visual Studio....

I have an application that has been working with for a very long time, in Visual Studio 2015.

Today, I added a line to the xml file, and then right-clicked on the web reference in my project, and clicked on the menu item to update the web reference. So, I removed the reference, regenerated the Enterprise WSDL file, and attempted to add a web reference to the newly generated file. I don't understand what has changed that is causing this problem. I have included a screenshot showing the problem as well. --- ERROR message BEGINS --- References/xml was not recognized as a known document type.

Almost every article or post I've read refers to this excellent article, but it's not working for me.

Using Visual Studio 2012, when I set the Web Reference property to Dynamic it does not use Web.config, it uses Settings. So I'm still not able to easily make changes to the url on deployed sites.
